After completing the training, the participant:
Has knowledge of methods of modifying the structure and operation of operating turbogenerators in order to extend their service life in regulatory operating conditions with frequent shutdowns
Knows modern systems for monitoring the operation and online diagnostics of turbogenerators using digital twins to: increase service life, operational safety and reliability
Has knowledge about new areas of turbogenerators usage in gas power plants, biomass power plants and nuclear power plants

Prerequisites
Basics of electrical engineering. Elementary knowledge of electromechanical sources of electricity. Basic knowledge regarding the construction and operation of the power system.

Turbogenerator as a source of electricity responsible for ensuring the required energy quality and operational stability of the power system
Contemporary and future areas of turbogenerators application in the national power system (coal units with extended service life, new gas units, units using biomass and units in nuclear power plants, new synchronous compensators or those derived from the conversion of decommissioned turbogenerators)
Overview of turbogenerators operating in the Polish power system - types, construction, cooling system solutions, operation taking into account new requirements resulting from the increase in the share of renewable energy sources (e.g. regulatory operation with frequent shutdowns, capacitive reactive power load required in the O&M)
Modification of the turbogenerator structure to increase power and adapt to the new regulatory operation regime - examples of implemented modernizations of units with power from 6 to 600 MW
Operation of turbogenerators ensuring the required service life during regulatory operation and frequent shutdowns - examples of new online monitoring and diagnostics systems using digital twins (e.g. the implemented unit monitoring system at the Łagisza Power Plant)
Switching from hydrogen to air cooling as a way to extend the operation of turbogenerators in small thermal power plants - an example of an implemented turbogenerator modernization project while maintaining the rated power of 50 MW

Simulation models of turbogenerators used in their design and creation of digital twins for modern online monitoring and diagnostics systems
Examples of the use of mathematical models in the turbogenerator design process
Use of a digital twin of a turbogenerator in the monitoring system of a 460 MW unit
Problems with overheating of the extreme stator elements in turbogenerators operating with increased rated power - a proposal for an innovative online diagnostics system for early detection of damage in the extreme part of the turbogenerator stator
Day 3
Problems related to ensuring the quality of electricity and the stability of the power system with an increase in the share of renewable energy sources
The justification for introducing a new service by the power system operator related to the generation of inductive reactive power, voltage regulation and frequency stabilization
Installation of synchronous compensators is a way to ensure the stability of the power system during its transformation
Conversion of turbogenerators from decommissioned coal units into emission-free synchronous compensators as a way to ensure proper operation of the power system
Presentation of the possibility of converting a turbogenerator into a synchronous compensator on the example of selected units (with a capacity of 120 MW, 200 MW and 600 MW)
