Day 1	Basic principles of ETHERNET network operation. Ethernet - a historical overview. Standard Ethernet, CSMA / CD, Switched Ethernet. Ethernet-based industrial networks and protocols. Transmission media. ISO / OSI network model. The network layered model in practice. What are layers and why are we talking about second and third layer devices (L2, L3). Ethernet communication. Ethernet frame structure, MAC addresses. Straight Cable, Crossover Cable, Auto MDI-X. Self-negotiation if and when to use. Unicast, broadcast, multicast - practical applications. Quality parameters, throughput, delay, jitter, packet loss. Communication in the third layer (L3). IP protocol, IP address, mask. Construction of an IP packet. Basics of static and dynamic routing. Transport layer protocols (L4). TCP connection protocol. UDP connectionless protocol. Ports and sockets. Application layer protocols (L7). DHCP protocol. Operation and basic options of DHCP. DHCP protocol in the industrial network - should it be used?
Day 2	Workshop 1 - the basics of configuration of managed LAN switches. Connecting the power supply and starting the switch for the first time. Switch management (console, graphical interface, command interface, tools). Overview of possible configuration functions. Change the switch's IP address. DHCP configuration. Checking the MAC address, viewing the ARP table. Checking the port status. Change port settings. Ethernet redundancy. STP and RSTP protocols. Ring protocols on the example of RSTP. Aggregation of LAG and LACP links. Dual homing. Workshop 2 - construction of redundant connections. RSTP configuration. FRNT configuration. Creating aggregate links between switches. Network segmentation using VLAN. Not tagged VLANs. 802.1q tagged VLANs. Workshop 3 - network division using VLAN. Configuration of VLANs on ports. Routing between VLANs. Trunk configuration with tagged VLANs.
Day 3	Basics of network traffic filtering with the use of Firewall. Workshop 4 - Firewall rules configuration Creating the rules based on IP addresses and services. Tests of the effectiveness of the introduced network security. NAT address translation and port forwarding. Workshop 5 - NAT and port forwarding configuration. Media converters used in industrial transmission. Introduction to DSL technology. Workshop 6 - configuration of Ethernet - DSL converters. Wireless communication in industrial networks. WiFi network - 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Wireless communication based on GPRS / 2G / 3G / 4G / LTE carrier network. Antenna installations, selection of solutions, protection and optimization. Workshop 7 - configuration of Wi-Fi devices. Workshop 8 - configuration of remote access via LTE.
Day 4	Basics of network management and its diagnostics. SNMP protocol - monitoring and diagnostics. Diagnostics and management with the use of generally available tools. LLDP - network device discovery mechanism. An example of using manufacturer's tools to manage device configuration. Workshop 9 - Network problem solving. Modern transport networks based on Ethernet on the example of MPLS-TP technology. Questions and answers.
