Will be able to increase efficiency of hydraulic systems
Will be able to tell the difference between systems with throttle and volumetric control
Will have the knowledge about the design and operating principle of fixed and variable displacement pumps
Will be able to determine efficiency of pumps and hydraulic motors and assess their technical condition
Will be able to regulate the basic parameters of a hydraulic drive in order to increase energy efficiency

Day 1

Hydraulic drives:
- Basics of hydromechanics
- Basics of the operation of hydrostatic drives
- General design of hydraulic systems
Losses in power hydraulic systems:
- Pressure losses
- Flow losses
- Influence of working fluid viscosity on pressure and flow losses
- Determination of linear and local pressure losses
- Methods of reducing losses in hydrostatic systems
Methods of controlling speed of the receivers:
- Throttle control
- Capacity control (with a variable displacement pump, with a drive with a frequency converter)
Capacity of displacement pumps and hydraulic motors in the context of energy efficiency:
- Parameters of operation of pumps and hydraulic motors
- Capacity efficiency
- Mechanical and hydraulic efficiency
- Total efficiency
- Comparison of capacity of the selected gear, blade and multi-piston elements
- Relationship between efficiency and parameters of hydraulic pump drive
- Possibilties of reducing efficiency decrease
Selected methods of assessing the degree of wear of pumps and motors to assess the losses (volumetric and mechanical losses):
- Determination of flow-pressure characteristics

Practical exercises in analyzing the operation of systems with throttle and volumetric control, as well as in diagnosing technical condition of displacement pumps

Day 2

Flow control systems with a fixed displacement pump:
- Possibility of installing throttle control in hydraulic lines (serial or parallel installation)
- Differences between two- and three-way regulators in terms of energy losses
- Two-pump and multi-pump systems (flow control)
Control systems with a variable displacement pump
- Operating principle of a variable displacement pump on the example of multi-piston units
- Tasks of typical pump regulators (volume, capacity, constant power)
- Proportional hydraulics in energy-saving control systems or displacement pump regulation systems
Load Sensing control
- With a fixed displacement pump
- With a variable displacement pump
Systems with hydraulic accumulators
- Recovering energy in hydrostatic drives
- Possibility of using hydraulic accumulators in order to increase energy efficiency of the drive
- Diagnostics of systems with hydraulic accumulators
Closed drives as an example of high efficiency hydraulic systems
