Photovoltaics – design and installation training

Course aims:

During the training, the participant:

will learn all the most important issues allowing to enter the photovoltaic industry
will consolidate good installation and design practices thanks to practical classes
will gain greater competences and a better understanding of the specifics of the industry

The aim of the practical training is to prepare people aspiring to enter the photovoltaic industry, as well as to consolidate good installation practices and designing installations for people already associated with it. Participation in the training is also open to sales representatives, whose greater competences and a better understanding of the specifics of the industry will allow to achieve better sales results. Completion of the training allows you to take the UDT exam for a certified PV installer.

Block 1 - Introduction

Introduction and purpose of the training
Presentation of the safety rules for using the laboratory (OSH)
Basic terms and solar resources in Poland
Theoretical basics - photovoltaic effect, photovoltaic cell, current-voltage characteristics
Construction and types of PV systems - on-grid, off-grid, hybrid systems
Decomposition of the grid PV system into its first parts - types, construction, reading catalog cards from the designer's and investor's point of view

Block 2 - Exhibition, electrical protection and maintenance of the PV installation

Correct exposure of PV modules - shading, azimuth, angle of inclination
Rules for connecting modules
Training to make connections with MC4 type connectors
Basics of electrical protection of PV systems and selection criteria
Demonstration of the electrical switchgear of the photovoltaic installation DC side
Basics of lightning protection
Maintenance and diagnostics of PV installations
Measurements with a thermal imaging camera
System operation monitoring on the example of real installations - theory + practice

Block 3 - Formalities

Legal conditions - construction law, RES Act, installer's qualifications, UDT, SEP, prosumer, methods of settlements with the operator
Discussion of the latest legal changes - net-billing, collective and tenants prosumer
Principles of connecting the system to the power grid, submission of the application to the DSO, co-financing, thermomodernisation relief
Fire protection issues.

Example 2: the impact of changing individual parameters on the operation of a PV installation
Power optimizers - application and principle of operation

Day 3

Block 1 - Island and hybrid systems

Decomposition of the island PV system into its first parts
Types of electricity storage
Decomposition of the hybrid PV system into its first parts

Block 2 - Assembly issues part 1

Installation techniques of photovoltaic installations - sloping roofs, flat roofs, free-standing structures
Visit to the ground PV installation
Installation of PV modules on a flat roof training station covered with heat-weldable roofing felt (assembly triangles) - theory + practice
Installation of PV modules on the training stand of a pitched roof covered with ceramic tiles (mounting hooks) - theory + practice
Installation of the inverter, connection and configuration

Block 3 - Quality of work and workmanship

Rules for safe assembly work - equipment, tools, safety equipment
Commissioning of the PV system - basic electrical measurements
Identification of assembly errors based on original photos from quality inspections of PV installations - theory + practice

These are coffee machines used in the best coffee shops. According to your taste, we serve unique types of coffee - Cappuccino, Espresso, Americano, Caffe Latte and Turkish coffee. Training participants can also use unlimited sparkling and still water, juices and sweets.

Two-course dinner - a combination of traditional, home-made flavors with meals served in restaurants.

Until 4:00 PM in the cafe on the first floor you can also buy fresh sandwiches, cakes, sweet and salty snacks and cold drinks. After training - from 4:00 PM - we invite you to try the delicious dishes of the Cechownia Restaurant, prepared by the best chefs in Gliwice.
