Trainings in casting technologies

Casting is a manufacturing process by which a liquid material is usually poured into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify.

Due to the type of a technological process, we distinguish the following types of casting processes:

• Sandd casting
• Shell mold casting
• Pressure die casting
• Die casting
• Centrifugal casting
• Continuous casting

Due to the method of casting, we distinguish the following:

• Casting in single-use molds:
  • Forming with permanent models – casting in sand, precise and two-part molds
  • Forming with single-use models – casting in precise one-part molds, full one-part molds
• Casting in reusable molds:
  • Casting in metal molds
  • Casting in special molds

Objectives:

• Learning basic casting technologies and methods of manufacturing moulds and cores
• Acquiring basic information about the materials (metal alloys) used to produce castsc
• Acquiring knowledge about the development of casting technologies, including mechanization, Automation and robotization of casting processes
• Gaining the skills of casting technology optimization
• Familiarizing current legal provisions with regard to industrial waste, including casting waste
• Knowledge on the methods of regenerating molding material
