Course program
- Electromagnetic phenomena used in the construction of electric machines (magnetic field and its parameters, electromagnetic and electrodynamic induction phenomena, models and computer programs based on them supporting the design of the electromagnetic circuit of an electric motor)
- Thermal and mechanical phenomena affecting the correct operation of the electric motor and its life
- Basic classification of motors for car drive due to the construction and type of installation (PMSM permanent magnet synchronous motor installed centrally or in the wheels of the vehicle, cage motor installed centrally)
- Principle of different types of electric motors operation for car drive
- Construction of electric motors for car drive (stator - sheet metal package, methods of winding, winding impregnation, insulation systems; rotor - construction requirements and construction technology, fastening and segmentation of magnets)
- Optimization of the electric motors design for driving a car in order to reduce dimensions and weight (issues related to the construction of electric motors with a very high degree of use of the electromagnetic circuit)
- Materials used in the construction of electric motors for car drive (including the development and implementation of new materials to improve the technical parameters of the motor)
- Ways to increase the efficiency of electric motors for car drive
- Ensuring the resistance of the electric motor to the conditions prevailing in the car (large changes in ambient temperature and humidity, high level of vibrations, water tightness of motors for installation in the wheel hub)
- Motor power supply systems for car drive (batteries, structures and control algorithms for converters)
- New development trends in the construction of motors for car propulsion (presentation of selected inventions improving the parameters and properties of the motor, motors to be installed in the wheel hub dedicated to passenger cars and special vehicles, results of testing prototypes of electric motors with new design solutions implemented in various driving cycles of an electric car and hybrid - including a detailed analysis of the magnetic field and power losses as well as the temperature field in engine components)
