Course content:
- Introduction to industrialcomputer network protocols. OSI model and the applied leyers. The evolution from the centralized to decentralized systems. Heterogenic networks. Modern network model.
- Types of Profibus networks - FMS, DP, PA.
- Physical and logical structure of profibus. Electric standard, media, network topology.
- Information flow within Profibus DP. Token Passing.Operation modes.
- DPV1 and DPV2 Blocks. The significance and application of the standards.
- Configuration files GSD. Content and significance.
- Hardware configuration and parametrization in Step7. Exemplar program.
- Data exchange between CPU and CP. Types of communication. Send/recieve blocks.
- Data exchange between CPUs. Master-Slave. Profibus DP interface setup.
- Communication and data exchange in decentralized systems.
- PC Station configuration. Communication with OPC server or SCDADA drive.
PLC Laboratory
Every participant has an individual training position at his or her disposal where the industrial tasks and solutions are being conducted with the application of the Siemens S7-300 controller. The training position consists of the PLC equipped in input/output modules and signal simulators as well as a PC with the STEP7 software. In the advanced courses the simulators are replaced with actual mechanical devices and elements such as valve islands, stepping motors, sensors and many others.
Software:
Program STEP7: The SIMATIC S7-300 is the most popular and most widely used controller in the modern industry. It is intended for the automation of machines, production lines and technological objects. It constitutes a modern and universal automation system platform and enables the design of control systems whether autonomic or decentralized with the application of Profibus DP. The available communication interfaces such as PROFIBUS and Ethernet/PROFINET enable linking the CPU’s into an integrated control system.

The participants of the extended with the STL programming SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-300 basic course receive a 200pp long training script which, apart from the theoretical part, includes many exercises that help to acquire the knowledge more effectively. After the course they also receive solutions of the exercises.

The design and programming of the SCADA/HMI system on the WinCC platform (2 pairs of redundant servers, 1 pair of archive servers and 8 clients) – system activation – SAT, FAT, IO tests; failure detection, modification and testing of the application (PLC, SCADA, HMI); on both ships, support for the maintenance department after the start; staff training, assistance in failure detection, reports.

SCADA system in the oil mixing plants; a factory in Shanghai (China) – the development of the visualization software on two Pro-Face boards, the development of visualization software on a PC (WinCC), creation of the software manual, integration of SCADA with a PLC.

Support for the maintenance in a car factory in Chennai (India) – HMI support in the paint plant; detection and elimination of the mistakes and errors in the Mitsubishi PLC software; adding of new functions to the existing software; optimization of the software in order to shorten the production process in several parts of the factory; conducting tests of the applied modifications.

Control system and HMI of a production line of Audi TT shock absorbers - the software and elements were provided by Allen Bradley company (PLC series 500).

Modernization of control and visualization of a Power And Free rail on a powder painting line. The rail is controlled by Siemens S5-AG115U CPU944B, the visualization is based on Siemens OP17 panel. What is interesting: both the modernization and and implementation was conducted in a very short period of time, between Christmas and New Years Day which prevented the factory from production stoppage. The production re-begun 1 week earlier than was planned.

Assembly line producing the back of the rear seat of VW Passat PQ46 with 7 welding centers (seven PLC S7 300 controller and one S7 400) and 26 ABB IRB robots. Creating the visualization with data processing, material flow, and data protocol from the welding process in Delphi. PLC and robots programming and implementation.

Assembly line for the production of air-conditioners in Mercedes S Class. Programming of S7 controllers (S7 Soft PLC and S7 300) in the following languages: IL, GRAPH7 and SCL.
